Collection: Domaine Tawse
The Cote de Nuits is considered by many as the yardstick for measuring the best Pinot Noirs in the world, it is no secret that these are also the most sought-after wines in the world. It is in this region that Pinot Noir reaches its full potential in producing bold, concentrated, perfumed, elegant and velvety wines.
Pascal Marchand was originally from Quebec but had ambitions to make wine in Burgundy. He has began his winemaking career in the New World but has married the techniques and the sensibilities of both Old and New World styles in making his wines. His career in Burgundy was highlighted when he managed Domaine Comte Armand (and under his tutelage influenced another emerging popular winemaker, Benjamin Leroux). He established his own négociant in partnership with his fellow Canadian, Moray Tawse. The négociant first began purchasing from different growers in Burgundy but as the quality and popularity of the wines grew, so did their portfolio, with them purchasing Domaine Maume in the Cote de Nuits in 2011. Their wines are now sold in multiple labels: The négociant which takes Marchand-Tawse and the Domaine wines which now use Domaine Tawse (to avoid confusion with Domaine Marchand-Freres)
